sushi sunday

janelle is headed to pick up some sushi for us at publix. i know some folks are rolling their eyes that we are eating sushi from a grocery store, but it's pretty good for grocery store sushi. i can have sushi and not blow weight watchers. i've been wanting something a little different to eat so this will probably hit the spot.

i love asian food. i have kimchi in my fridge right now. i actually thought about having that for my dinner tonight with some rice. i got hooked on korean food back in the day. a friend of mine, sue, is korean and she introduced me and cassandra to korean food. after we'd close the bar down, we'd head over to this korean restaraunt after hours. i fell in love with bulgogi and kimchi. there were other things they tried to get me to taste, but i couldn't get past what it actually was. i know it smelled good, but i wasn't brave enough to try.

there's this little korean diner on deans bridge that i've been to eat several times. the last time i went was with jeri. we ordered bulgogi and galbi gui (short ribs) for our main dishes. the waitress brought out all these different salads that consisted of kimchi, radishes, bean sprouts, marinated cucumber, etc. each person gets a bowl of rice and you pick from the various salads and dishes. some of the salads are spicy because of the red pepper that is used. i'll have to see what the points are for korean dishes and go have lunch there one day soon.

i'm going to go now. janelle should be home soon with the sushi!!
