today elliott is racing at texas motorspeedway. there's only 3 races left to decide who the champion is this year. he's starting 19th, so maybe that is a good sign to start your car number...lol. he has been doing better, but things just keep happening to not have the greatest finishes. he has won at texas before and it would be nice to have a win before the season is over. this season has been disappointing to say the least. but as they all say, there's always next year!
i've decided this year that i'm making scarves to give to folks at work....well, certain folks anyway. there's 24 of us in our department and frankly, some of them wouldn't appreciate a hand-knit scarf. i started one yesterday using the ripple stitch pattern i found on lionbrand's website. i'm using yarn bee soft delight in pink for this one. the links show the soft delight extremes which is not the yarn i'm using, but you get the idea. the pale pink is shimmery with orange, green, pink, yellow, and purple stranded throughout it. i love the soft fuzzy effect it has and how it drapes. i'm using the size 13 circular needle so it's a fast knit.
i also have the soft delight in red. there is a lady who is in the red hat society and i think the red yarn is perfect for a scarf for her. it is shimmery red with pink, purple, yellow, orange and green too just like the pink one. i made a hat out of some of the red which my sister, suzy, fell in love with and took it.
i need to take a shower and wash my hair so i'm going to sign off here. lately my hair has had a mind of its own and i've got to figure out what to do with it. i need to go see jennifer and get her to trim it up a little bit so it's not so unruly! maybe she can get it back under control again...
kisses....

I need to call Sissy, apologize for totally forgetting I had an appointment to have my hair cut last month, and get her to cut it for me now. My hair gets big on top when it gets too long. That's the problem with thick hair.
The scarf yarn looks so soft! I hope you post photos of the scarves when they are done.
