sitting in bumper-to-bumper traffic trying to meet janelle at dr. b's office for her appointment. i think everyone was out driving today. i have never seen traffic this bad. i know it's christmas time and folks are out buying gifts. but no one is giving an inch....blocking the road so no one can pass or get around them. i'm not going any where near augusta tomorrow. i have some shopping i'd like to do, but it's not worth it.

i've decided i'm giving i-o-u's or money as gifts this year. i have janelle's main present. i know what i wanted to do for mom & dad, but honestly i'm not fighting the traffic to get it. and sure, i could have planned better and gotten what i needed earlier in the year. poor planning on my part. it will not happen again. i'm either ordering online or making it. i've still got to get the stuff to send to my nieces and nephew. i'll put it in the mail tomorrow hopefully. i know they won't get it until after christmas, which is not what i planned.

on to why i had to meet janelle at dr. b's office today. if you've been reading my blog, you will remember that janelle broke her finger during a powder puff football game. it hasn't been healing properly. it is crooked and she can't bend the finger all the way closed when she tries to make a fist. long story short...we have an appointment with the hand specialist to see what needs to be done. dr. b said most likely janelle would have to have a screw put in to align the finger back properly. he said that we could leave it like it is, but she may have problems as she gets older. i think it needs to be fixed and janelle agreed. dr. b also agreed, but he wanted his colleague to look at it and give his professional opinion.

so that's what we have to look forward to after the holidays. we're going to have to try and schedule it where it won't interfere with her other committments. soccer is coming up, fbla district and regionals is coming up, beta state convention is coming up. it will work out though. it always does.

and my little janelle will be 18 years old next month!!! where did the time go?!!
