just wanted to say hey

it's been a good day for the most part. i have been relatively pain free, even after a trip to walmart. i got in and got out with very little aggravation and stuck to my list. i've been knitting on and off for most of the day trying to finish up the scarf for my boss. she goes on vacation beginning thursday and will not be back until after the 1st of the year.

i'm making her a keyhole scarf, using the pattern from stitch 'n bitch, the knitters handbook by debbie stoller. the yarn i'm using is yarn bee airy in cream. it has little flecks of gold throughout. it's a nice, soft fuzzy texture. i'll try to remember to take a pic before i give it to her. i hope she'll like it. it's hard to tell sometimes with her. i sewed a tote bag for her a couple of years ago and have yet to see her carry it. but that's ok, i enjoyed making it for her and if she didn't use it, hopefully she gave it to someone who did.

i'll round out her gift with some dark chocolate covered pretzels from fresh market and some of her favorite lindt truffles. and i also thought about getting one of those chocolate raspberry oranges, which is similar to this. she loves chocolate and raspberry so i'm sure she'd like the orange as well.

i'm doing a little bit of computer housekeeping before bedtime. i've copied over some of my files to cd's. my computer has been running slow and i don't want to take a chance on losing files. i've burned a lot of my pics to cd's as well and need to get the rest off. plus when i go to get a new laptop, i won't have to do this task then.

it's getting late and i need to try to go to sleep. i go to my new cubicle tomorrow with my new group. i'm a little nervous and don't know why. i know a lot of the folks i'll be working with now. i guess in a way i kind of feel like it's the 1st day of school...lol. i'm the "new" kid and have to get to know everyone and figure out how things work. wish me luck!!
