monday drama

at work today we got some surprising news. one of the pain-in-the-you-know-what controllers is suddenly gone. no one is giving any details, so he must have done something really bad to go so quickly. we were told he has "left the company to pursue other interests"...not the words you want to hear. it basically means he had the option to resign before they fired him.

of course my boss was walking around on cloud 9. there have been problems with this guy practically from the beginning. one person said he micro-managed everything. we saw just the opposite. we couldn't get him to look at the details. he was one of those who was real big on letting you know how important he was b/c he had over 400 emails in his inbox. that's fine, but you've got to read them every once in a while. that might have been what did him in. enough about him...

one of my friends at work brought me a knitting book today: i can't believe i'm knitting socks by cindy guggemos. i was pleasantly surprised to get it. the techniques include double pointed needles, magic loop, 2 circular needles as well as options for the toe and heel. there's 8 sock patterns in there. my friend told me she got the book by making a donation to our local food bank. they had a table with various books on it and she saw this one and thought of me. i'm going to have to make her a pair of socks from one of the patterns in the book. she is a cross-stitcher so i know she appreciates handcrafted work. i'm really psyched about this b/c it has tons of information. :)

i'm signing off for now. only 2 more days til weight watcher wednesday! i'm sticking to my plan and feeling good. i hope i've lost a couple of pounds...lol...especially since i've kept my hand out of the m&m bowl! btw- a serving of m&m's (from the big bag) is 1/4 cup, which is equal to 5 points on the ww flex plan. 5 points is equal to a light meal. i'm not wasting 5 points on a handful of candy that will leave me wanting more. see already i'm making some positive changes.

kisses....
